Contract Position (approx. 40 hrs. per week), Duration 6-12 months

PROFILE
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful execution of the materials Upgrade Project for a major client.  In this capacity, the Project Manager is responsible for supervising profitable delivery of project deliverables on-time, and on budget, while meeting client expectations.  This position is based in the Norman Office and is part of the Projects Group and supported by all Departments within JMC.  This position may involve travel to client locations, primarily Houston. 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Re-evaluate full-scale project plans and associated communications documents; implement changes where necessary.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make recommendations for appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  • Ensure project expectations are continually managed and communicated with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Execute planned and scheduled project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

REQUIREMENTS

Summary of Minimum Qualifications:  Exceptional communicator who can pull a team together and optimize their efforts.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Computer literate with experience in the Microsoft® Office Suite including Microsoft® Project.
  • Five years experience in project management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with an assertive approach.  
  • Ability to manage and influence people who are not direct reports.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; thrives in high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly adaptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an engineering field.
  • Experience in project management of training programs.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification a strong plus.
